Product details of Canesten Cream
Clotrimazole, the active ingredient of Canesten cream, has been reported to have excellent antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts and tinea versicolor.
It is an imidazole-based antifungal drug with a fat-soluble imidazole ring, and is used as an external preparation because it is sparingly soluble in water.
Its mechanism of action is that it binds to phospholipid molecules of the membrane system structure such as the cell membrane and nuclear membrane of fungal cells with specific affinity, and exhibits antifungal action by changing its permeability.
